The gear pump can produce a greater pressure, can reach more than 10Mpa. So the head of the gear pump is much larger than the peristaltic pump.

Pulsation: the peristaltic pump transmits liquid one by one and has a large pulsation phenomenon. Gear pump pulsation is a much smaller, smooth flow of liquid transmission.

Sealing: the use of a peristaltic pump can be exempted from the application of many valves, without considering whether liquid reflux and other factors, because the peristaltic pump is always able to maintain sealing. The gear pump is impossible to seal, so the need to install a one-way valve and other devices to ensure that the fluid does not flow back.

Suction range: peristaltic pump can produce 97% vacuum and suction range can reach 8.5 meters. The suction range of the gear pump is generally not more than 0.5 meters.

Efficiency: under the condition of good sealing, the working efficiency of the peristaltic pump is 100%, that is, head and pressure do not affect the flow of the peristaltic pump. Gear pump body can not fit without clearance, so it can not make fluid 100% discharged from the outlet, so the fluid loss is inevitable. Precision gear pump, 95% efficiency can be achieved.

Flow attenuation: after using for some time, the flow of the peristaltic pump is attenuated, and regular correction is required for occasions with high flow requirements. Gear pump due to wear also exists flow attenuation, but much better than a peristaltic pump.
