Application of peristaltic pump in tangential flow filtration

Tangential flow filtration is one of the pressure filtration/membrane filtration technologies. In the traditional dead-end filtration technology, the flow direction of the filtrate is perpendicular to the filtration membrane and consistent with the filtration direction. Most of the small molecules pass through the filtration membrane, while the large molecules gather on the surface of the membrane. With the increase of time, the particles accumulated on the membrane surface also increase the filtration resistance increases, and the membrane permeability rate decreases.

In tangential flow filtration, the flow direction of the filtrate is parallel to the filtration membrane and vertical to the filtration direction. A small part of small molecules pass through the filtration membrane, and large molecules are taken away from the membrane surface. With the increase of time, the number of particles accumulated on the membrane surface is limited, which does not affect the speed and effect of filtration.

Tangential flow filtration is commonly used in the production of biological products, blood products, and vaccines. Advantages of peristaltic pump in tangential fluid overflow:
